Hi, I’m Shannon Stewart.

I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

I graduated from New Mexico State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After completing my degree, I gained valuable bedside nursing experience in psychiatry, working on adult inpatient units where I provided care for a wide range of mental health conditions, including substance abuse disorders. Additionally, I worked in a pediatric inpatient unit, where I specialized in supporting young patients with diverse mental health needs, further expanding my expertise in the field.

In 2022, I graduated with my Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Arizona State University. While working as a nurse though the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health gained widespread attention as isolation, stress, and uncertainty led to increased anxiety and depression. The crisis emphasized the need for mental health support, with virtual therapy and resources becoming more accessible. Public conversations around mental health grew, reducing stigma and encouraging people to seek help. The pandemic highlighted the crucial link between mental and physical health, leading to greater recognition of mental health care in healthcare systems. And so, focusing on mental health, I graduated from Arizona State University in 2022 with my Doctors of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a speciality in Mental Health.

After moving to Colorado in the summer 2022, I began my journey as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, gaining experience working with diverse populations and helping individuals navigate mental health challenges. Over time, I realized my passion for providing personalized, compassionate care, which inspired me to open Stewart Psychiatry. With a focus on creating a comfortable, welcoming environment, Stewart Psychiatry is dedicated to offering tailored treatments that empower patients on their path to mental wellness. Through this practice, I aim to make a meaningful impact on the community and contribute to the growing need for accessible mental health services in Colorado.

At Stewart Psychiatry, we focus on a collaborative, patient-centered model, ensuring that each person receives the time, attention, and support they need to explore treatment options, ask questions, and make informed decisions about their care. We also prioritize offering helpful resources, such as articles, videos, and books, to support your journey. Whether you're seeking help for anxiety, depression, ADHD, or other mental health concerns, we are committed to helping you achieve a healthier, more fulfilling life.
